Question: Acne question:do you have to be acne free to get acne scarring treatments?

Hi, ive suffered from acne for about 2 years and now that ive been using proactiv, its calmed down and i maybe get 2- 3 a week and they are gone in the next few days. However, i did use to pick at them when it was really bad and i now have bad acne scars covering my face. Im going to the dermatologist tomorrow and i was wondering before i went and asked about my acne if i had to be completely acne free before getting treatments like dermabrasion or chemical peels. i want it done before i go back to school and i barely get any acne anymore it is just the scars that look bad, i can deal with 1- 2 tiny pimples once and a while. I cannot go on accuntane fyi. Also, are the treatments covered by insurance? are there any good natural remedies for scarring? sorry for all the questions i just want to know a bit more so i know what to ask for when i go in tomorrow. I said i cant use accutane because of a side effects before.. |
