What is the best acne treatment for adult acne?
I am 32 years old and I have battled an acne problem since I was a teenager. At times it would be OK but then flare up again. For the past 4 years I have used Proactiv and although it helps, I still have flare ups. Has anyone tried any other products out there other than Proactiv and has had any success?
Does anyone know any good at home treatments for adult acne?
I have had acne since I was 13. It did go away for awhile but recently it has come back really bad. I wash my face and back everyday but it seems like its just getting worse.I do not have a lot of money to buy acne treatments, so I am wondering if anyone knows of any good at home treatments.
Question about adult acne/treatment etc?
About 8 months ago, we had a death in the family...very stressful and I had a horrible breakout...pimples everywhere on my face, and I'm talking everywhere. I attributed it to stress and eventually they went down but " evolved" into this very strange patch of what I can only assume is cystic acne...sort of like a rash which will not respond to any sort of topical treatment I have tried. I have another patch forming, and also some on my neck along with random " normal" pimples elsewhere. When I wake up in the morning, the patches are noticeable in the morning, but they are " flat" and don't really hurt. By mid day, they hurt when touched and are more inflamed and bumpy. I can't get into the dermatologist for another 2 months...any ideas on what could have caused this? I'm pushing 30 and have no history of acne problems ever. Is this hormonal or triggered by an unknown allergy to something....and what will likely be the first treatment for it? I'm not a vain person but I'm pained to admit I am becoming very self conscious about it. So far it hasn't developed into open sores pustules etc...
My high school acne product isn't cutting it anymore, any suggestions for my adult acne?
I used to just use Clean and Clear and I was fine, but now I'm getting more blemishes again...I haven't changed my routine in any way, I guess I work out more than I did, but I don't work out in makeup and I wash the sweat off when I'm done.... but other than that I don't know what else could be causing the C& C to not work anymore...maybe I just need a new product...any suggestions? Thanks
Anyone have good results using sulfur and zinc for adult acne?
I never had acne as a teenager, then all of a sudden last spring at 20 y o, I started getting really painful zits all over my face. I drink a lot of water, I'm a clean person, I'm not stressed, I'm a vegetarian and I eat almost all homemade meals using all organic ingredients. I don't eat greasy chemical filled junk food. So it's not my lifestyle that is causing this. It is absolutely driving me nuts.I have done research online and found that sulfur and zinc have been a long used adult acne remedies. I bought sulfur soap and zinc cream last week, and have been using them daily. They seem to be helping, but I know it's too soon to tell. Has anyone else had good results with these? Please don't recommend I go buy clearasil or proactive type products. They are filled with nasty chemicals, and while I'm sure they're great for treating acne, I'm not all that sure prolonged use won't cause skin cancer or some other negative health result in later life. I stick to all natural, tried and tested remedies that people have used for hundreds of years with no bad results.
Does minocycline get rid of adult acne?
I have only in my adult years suffered with acne. My doctor prescribed minocycline and told me I'd only have to do maybe 2 or 3 rounds of it before my acne would completely disappear. I haven't been able to find anybody who has had this experience. In fact, it feels like I've only heard negative reactions. Anybody have success with minocycline?

Question on adult acne?
I suffer from adult acne. It reached its worse with age. I'm 23 this year and it appears to just get worse with time. I've been to the dermatologist and I've been taking their prescription medicines and following a healthy diet but it doesn't prevent my breakouts. I recently came across an over the counter cream called Acnomel and its an adult acne cream that contains sulfur. I was wondering if anyone had reviews on it. Also if you are an adult with acne, how do you maintain your breakouts? Thanks
How can i get rid of mild acne at 22? is it adult acne?
I am frustrated with the fact that I am still getting acne at my age. It's not horrible acne, but enough to bother me. I guess it would be considered 'mild acne.' But I can't seem to make it go away and I never seem to just have clear skin. And lately, it seems to be getting a little worse. its driving me crazy I've tried a wide range of things, from acne treatments benzoyl peroxide wash, toner and creams to simply washing my face with water, gentle washes like cetaphil and neutrogena, scrubs, taking vitamin A, washing my hands more etc etc. also, when I was a teenager and it was worse I used things like Differin, retin a micro etc.. none of which ever produced satisfactory results. I just want good skin. what the heck can I do to achieve this?
What can i do to help my adult acne?
I suffer from adult acne and the over the counter stuff just doesn't seem to work on my skin. I no longer have insurance, but my old dermatologist prescribed Retin A Micro and oral antibiotics. The meds had my face looking flawless for a few years. I just got laid off from my job 5 months ago and you should see all the bumps and little back heads. Proactive does nothing for me, it makes my face shiny. I've also used clean and clear, it didn't help.A friend told me I could order the meds from a online online canadian drugstore, but that sounds dangerous. What are the other options.
Does anybody have any suggestions about how to get rid of adult acne?
I'm 30 years old and I have had moderate acne since I was 10 years old. Right about age 29 my acne started to clear and I was like " Score I'm finally going to have clear skin " On no particular regimen, my skin clear beautifully for about a year. Then, about 3 weeks after I turned 30, The acne was back worse than it had EVER been. It was not on my back & shoulders I'm trying to be cool about it but its really killing my self esteem. I know I am a great person, but when I am out in public I feel like people are looking at my skin when they talk to me. It's honestly getting to te point that I don't want to go places. It seems the older I get the more scars my acne leaves. So now I'm battling the acne & the scars they leave behind whether I pick at them or not . I am the only one in my family and the only one of my friends who still has acne. I have been to the dermatologist who admits that my acne is mild, but if that's the case why won't it clear up? I've tried every acne medication that has an infomercial and currently I'm doing Pro Activ, previously on a strict twice a day Cetaphil cleansing with Benzoyl Peroxide 10%. My fam & friends are sweet, when they say " I didn't even notice " , but c'mon we all know they see it. LOL.
